Too bright that I had to switch the color mode from dynamic to vivid (dynamic is surprisingly very bright that is actually uncomfortable to my eyes at night), which made me really regret not getting this projector early-on thinking it's not bright enough.The advantage the Epson laser project has on other Epson lamp based are:- Instant ON to full brightness (no warm up time) and takes approx ~4 sec boot time (i.e. from OS boot screen to HDMI signal showing up).- Lightweight with small form factor (so easy to attach to any standard camera mount (tripod or desk-clamp)- no flickering brightness, other lamp based Epsons I owned all suffered from flickering brightness from time to time.The single most important advantage this Epson laser projector (also other Epson lamp based projects) has over other projectors I owned (Optima, Acer, etc..) is 3LCD technology.The individual color brightness of Epson projectors due to 3LCD technology is very difficult to live without once experienced.This is coming from someone who owned other DLP projectors that had higher refresh rates 120hz (excellent for competitive gaming and all around smooth desktop experience). The difference in color was too difficult for me to go back to DLP despite the refresh rate disadvantage (most Epsons operate at normal 60hz)Disadvantage compared to other Lamp based Epsons:- No optical zoom. Other Epson lamp based projectors have adjustable optical zoom lens which allows for increasing \/ decreasing the size of the projected area (aka dynamic throw ratio) regardless of the distance the projector is placed from the wall without sacrificing clarity in terms of pixel density PPI - Pixels Per Inch (as the case with digital zoom).This laser projector (and it seems most if not all laser projectors) doesn't have optical zoom.
