At the time, I was trying to find a high-quality monitor for work (I'm a writer). I was tired of cheap ones but couldn't justify the $1,500 price tag on the Studio display; this seemed like a good middle ground. I love the display itself. It's large, great for using two windows on the same screen, bright, and very clear. I was very happy with what I got, even for $400 bucks. But, like so many other reviewers, mine died. Mine died at about the 5-month mark. It turned on, but the screen would not work. Troubleshooting wouldn't work, and I was really nervous I had a very expensive brick for my desk now. Seeing other people struggle with Amazon and LG's customer service, I was nervous I wouldn't get help either. However, I registered my monitor with LG directly and submitted a warranty claim. They sent me a shipping label via email (it took a couple of days). I shipped it off to the service center in CA and didn't really hear anything back from them directly. I got an update when a package had been created by FedEx and my monitor was shipped back. Overall, shipping it off and receiving it took about 2-3 weeks. It really sucked but I'm glad I got it fixed. My recommendation is, at $250 bucks this thing is a steal, but if you experience issues like the others and can't get help or a refund, it could be a loss.
